If you are working at a nearby call center located at Tiendesitas, Pasig, you are lucky to find one of the most successful Japanese tendon chain - TENYA. Mr Yoshio Iwashita, founder of TENYA, opened his first outlet in the Youssu underground mall at Tokyo Station. He established the business to provide customers high quality tendon and tempura at a modest price. TENYA entered the Philippine market back in 2015 through RACK's Group, Cavallino Inc. Now, they offer one of the trending Japanese food - Sushi Bake.

On a Wednesday night after work, my son and I tried the Spicy Salmon Baked and California Baked. Each tray costs P335 and it comes with a serving of nori sheets. Nori is a dried edible seaweed that has a strong, distinctive flavor. It adds saltiness and crunch to the baked sushi. Wrapping the rolls of sushi may be difficult at first. Some learn how to do it properly, but in our case, we just dip the spoon on the tray, put the baked sushi on the nori sheet without any effort to roll it perfectly. We simply enjoy eating it like a nacho dip :)
TENYA, Tiendesitas brings you to a small province in Japan. Customers appreciate the ornamental Cherry Blossom tree. The pink and white colors of the tree contrasts the earthly, minimalist design of the restaurant: grayish floors and walls, wooden tables, chairs, and panels, and a few wallposters that display Japanese food.
When you miss traveling to Japan, visit TENYA and order baked sushi. For a short magical moment under that Cherry Blossom tree, you'll have a taste of what it feels like to be there once more.
