About a week ago, I went to the bank to meet my friend. I submitted additional requirements for our corporate account, an IT Consultancy business established with my family and friends. My friend and I went out for lunch and it was a delight to eat again at Goldilocks.

Goldilocks brought back memories of Mommy. Before she suffered from cancer, she set-up a bakeshop at home in San Jose. When I was a kid, Mommy and I usually travel to Manila from Nueva Ecija to visit my siblings who were studying in college. As a probinsiyana, I was looking forward to have bonding time with my brother and sisters in Cubao. Back then, Cubao was the place to go on a Friday night or a weekend with family and friends.

We go to Fiesta Carnival - ride the ferris wheel, merry-go-round and my all-time favorite – the long train that gives kids and adults a joyous ride to see planets and stars. At SM Cubao, Mommy enjoys buying kitchen and baking utensils, shoes, and bags while I can't wait to eat at Goldilocks.

I always crave for Goldilocks' spaghetti with meaty tomato sauce and hotdog slices. There was a time that Mommy bought palabok for me and I just cried at the restaurant. I was and am still a huge fan of pasta. But something that did make me stop crying was the crunchy, caramel popcorn. I can eat one whole bag for myself. Non-stop! 😊

Since I grew up in a bakeshop, what amazes me at Goldilocks is the lovely display of cakes, rolls, pies, and bread. How I miss those days with Mommy! We spent a lot of time together just baking at home.
