Spending Christmas at Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, excites me to spend quality time with my family and enjoy home-cooked meals. My brother is a tiger in the kitchen, he is a fast cook and an adventurous gourmand. In a few hours, he was able to prepare and make five dishes: Ginataang Gulay, Gourmet Bangus, Papaitan sa Calamansi, Longganisa, and Spaghetti.

The Gourmet Bangus is a flavorful milkfish because of the mixed vegetables and spices: carrots, onions, garlic, pepper, ginger, bay leaves, and chili.

My brother cooked the Papaitan with calamansi which made the soup zesty and mouth-watering. Papaitan is a Filipino bitter soup with beef's innards. Our family also enjoyed fried longganisa, fresh kiat kiat, sweet kalamay, cheesy spaghetti, and Coca-Cola.
