Due to stress at work and sleepless nights on a hot summer, I was feverish one Sunday afternoon and was having an intense craving for a chicken soup. UP Town Center, Katipunan Avenue was one tricycle ride away from our condo. My son and I went to the grocery first to buy some stuff and went out to find a comforting restaurant to alleviate my feverish state.
Wangfu Chinese Cafe caught my attention because of the large menu board that was displayed outside the restaurant. It was quite big that I can clearly see the menu and food pictures without wearing my glasses. The best part was the affordable price and a good place to sit and relax after lining up at the grocery.

My son ordered Salted Egg Fried Chicken Rice (P218) and Milo Dinosaur (PI18). I have not eaten anything all day so I decided to eat rice and soup. I ordered Hokkien Fried Rice (P188) and Hainanese Chicken Ramen (P298).

When the waitress placed the bowl of ramen on the table, I can instantly smell the fresh ginger, chopped garlic, chili sauce, and warm chicken broth. The shredded carrots and the greens on top of the grayish white broth was aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Just looking at the chicken meat, I know that it has been prepared and cooked well. Simply said, the ramen was ready to be devoured by a hungry customer.

Customers were not allowed to eat inside the restaurant so I asked permission from the waitress if we can take pictures of the place. Wangfu has a contemporary, earthly interior. There are wooden, light brown chairs and tables that contrast the grayish walls and floors. Warm elements such as the green ornamental plants placed in red pails, black hanging lamps, and light fixtures on the ceiling synced with the modern style Chinese design.
